600 children from all over Croatia took part in a judo training camp in Zagreb led by Majlinda Kelmendi and Hedvig Karakas. They taught young judo fans the fundamentals of judo in a safe and supportive environment, developing important life skills such as self-control, courage and respect. An experience the budding judoka will never forget.
Arena Zagreb was packed for -48 kg, where Mireia Lapuerta Comas won her first gold medal on the World Judo Tour. Defeat the more experienced Milica Nikolic by scoring two waza-aris.

"It's amazing, I didn't expect it when I walked out, it was like, wow, so many people in that crowd. It was so, so good, really. It's like when I was young, many years ago, I'm just about Tom dreamed and now I'm here, it's like a dream, really, I'm so happy," Lapuerta said
At -60kg, Dilshot Khalamatov attacked hard throughout his competition and eventually won tactically to claim the gold medal in front of enthusiastic local fans.

Jessica Pereira of Brazil was in fantastic form at -52kg, securing a waza-ari in the final to win the gold medal in Zagreb, and the judo fans in the crowd were ecstatic.

Another Brazilian, Willian Lima, with -66 kg, was on fire all day and after an amazing semi-final, he entered the match for gold confidently.
In the end, he earned a tactical victory thanks to penalties. His first gold medal on the World Judo Tour and the fans were excited to meet one of their heroes.
IJF Chief Referee Director Armen Bagdasarov awarded the medals.
"Zagreb is incredible for me because my first European Cadet Cup medal was gold here. This is my second gold medal here in Zagreb. People remember this place well and now for the second time, I am very happy, this moment of my life here in Zagreb," said Lima.
At -57 kg, Marica Perisic performed an unusual sacrifice technique and followed directly into the hold to secure the ippon and the gold medal. It was the first Grand Prix gold for the Serb after his Grand Slam success earlier this year in Tbilisi.
