Russian authorities said a Ukrainian military drone crashed into a building in central Moscow on Friday morning.
A local air defense system shot down the drone before debris hit the city's Expo Center complex, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The "unmanned aerial vehicle" was hit at about 4 a.m. local time but caused no casualties after being intercepted, the statement added.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said emergency services were operating around the non-residential building, although there was no significant damage.
One of the walls temporarily collapsed due to falling debris, rescue services told local media. Airspace near Moscow International Airport was temporarily closed following the strikes.
Russia also claimed to have successfully fended off a Ukrainian drone attack that targeted its warships in the Black Sea on Thursday night.
Moscow and the surrounding region have been the target of frequent drone attacks in recent weeks as the Ukrainian counter-offensive continues in full swing.
