The Chandlers share their project with Tiny Home Tours on YouTube. They're newcomers to the scene, only a few months old, but the International 3800 bus they've created is far from entry-level. For starters, it's not a standard school bus roof - the top has been cut off and raised to make room for a loft above the cab. It also created enough space in the rear to accommodate a tall king bed with garage space and a secluded room for the two large family dogs. That's not bad for seasoned bus veterans, let alone schoolboy rookies.
Between the loft and the cabin is a kitchen that looks more like a large apartment than a small bus. The counter sits between a full size fridge/freezer and a farm sink that doubles as a small tub for the kids. There's a tucked-in four-burner stove and oven, and when more worktop space is needed, the sections fit neatly over the sink and stove. There's even a trash compactor and a special coffee corner that can be controlled via an app. These people may live on the go, but they certainly don't care.
Opposite the kitchen is a small living area with a table for meals and activities. The full bathroom features a large stand-up shower and toilet, and the bus carries 100 gallons of fresh water and a 40-gallon gray water tank. The roof offers 600 watts of solar power as well as a deck for relaxing, although the aforementioned king size bed with a retractable flat screen TV looks like a nice place to relax. Curtains give mom and dad some privacy in the back, while the loft at the top of the cabin is dedicated to the kids.
